Clenaware turns up the heat

Clenaware TD50 Thermal Disinfection Warewasher with remote monitoring systemClenaware one of the UK’s best-known manufacturers of commercial warewashing equipment, is turning its attention to the European Secondary Healthcare market with the launch of its latest range of TD50 Thermal Disinfection Dishwashers with integrated remote monitoring system.

Clenaware warewashers are well known for their efficiency and with the inclusion of the new Clenaware Monitoring System as standard specification (which can also be retro fitted toall current machines), it now produces a full audit trail for Environmental Health and compliance purposes as well as monitoring consumption of power, water and consumables and planning preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis. The Clenaware Monitoring System (CMS) records and reports through an easy to use online interface which Healthcare Facility Managers and Service Engineers can access on a real-time, 24/7 basis from any Internet enabled PC.

Clenaware warewashers meet the requirements of BS2745 (Washer- disinfectors for medical purposes) and in line with the recommendations of HTM2030 (Health Technical Memorandum 2030 Washer- disinfectors for medical purposes) the Clenaware TD50 offers a preferable solution to the use of chemical disinfectants, which HTM2030 recommends should be avoided when heat can be reasonably used as an alternative.

With The NHS no longer protected by Crown immunity and now subject to the full force of the law, notably in health and safety, medicinal products and consumer legislation including tighter statutory control, brought in by new European Union Directives, which extend to almost every aspect of disinfection the importance of effective cleaning and disinfection in general catering applications, will become an even greater focus for architects, planners, estates managers and supplies officers.

The inclusion of the Clenaware Monitoring System as standard equipment also meets one of the most important recommendations of HTM2030 that highlights the importance of a philosophy of maintenance and testing which embodies two main principles to ensure that the required standards of performance and safety are met and maintained:
1. all Washer-Disinfectors are subject to a carefully planned programme of tests to monitor their performance
2. all Washer-Disinfectors are subjected to a planned programme of preventive maintenance
The Clenaware Monitoring System allows the Facility Manager, Operator and the Clenaware Service Engineer to monitor the operational efficacy of the Disinfection cycle through an easy to use, on-line Graphical User Interface and to prepare maintenance schedules without the need for costly site visits.
Most importantly the system also produces a full reporting audit trail for consumables, a data log of cycles, timings and temperature verification.

The ClenawareTD50 offers two possible temperature/time regimes for thermal disinfection:
• 82°C for 2 minutes (default)
• 71°C for 3 minutes (selected by an engineer upon request.)
Whilst the Thermal Disinfection cycle consists of the following functions:
• Re-circulating wash period with detergent.
• Refill period, replacing the wash tank water.
• Thermal Rinse period, raising the rinse water to Thermal Disinfection temperature and holding for the Thermal Disinfection time.
• Final Cooling Rinse.
The ClenawareTD50 is WRAS approved for Healthcare Installations.

Peter Brown, Sales Manager for Clenaware at European Distributors Hubbard Ice Systems comments: “With the continuing importance of ward level vigilance against infections such as Norovirus/Winter Vomiting Bug the installation of a thermal disinfection warewasher such as the Clenaware TD50 not only delivers another level of protection for patients but also for hard pressed Service Managers and Facility Managers by delivering value for money and effective disinfection in one package”.
